Doctoral Students' Conference: Tradition, Development & Innovation in Didactics - Early Career Researchers Conference
(TDID - ERC)

 

Organized online between 15-16 December 2022 by

"Didactics: Tradition, Development & Innovation” Doctoral School at Babeș-Bolyai University &

Linz School of Education at Johannes Kepler University.

 

AIM OF THE CONFERENCE

The conference aims to bring together PhD students from Educational Sciences, especially those who are working in Didactics of different school disciplines. The conference gives the opportunity to participants for present their wok and for meeting and networking other PhD students who are working on the same research issues. Participants also can meet senior researchers who are giving keynote presentations or co-chair sessions. PhD students also have the opportunity to chair sessions.

REGISTRATION

PhD students can present their work in short, 10 minutes long presentations. Beside new research results you can present an already published research or research in progress. There are three threads of the conference, English, Romanian, and Hungarian.

Deadline: 6 December 2022 for presenters, 11 December 2022 for participants without presentation.

INVITED SPEAKERS

Branko Andjic, is a postdoc researcher at Johannes Kepler University, Austria. He received his Ph.D. in 2020 in the field of STEAM education for visual impairment students. During his doctoral research, he stayed for professional and scientific training at five European universities in Austria, England, Slovenia, Montenegro, and Serbia. He is the author of a textbook in Biology for pre-university level education, as well as a manual for teachers. He is the author of 31 scientific papers in international peer-review journals. So far, he has been involved in 7 international and 5 national projects in the field of education.

Description automatically generated with medium confidenceMatthias Brandl is a Professor for Didactics of Mathematics at the University of Passau, Germany, since 2011. His central research areas are interconnectedness in mathematics and mathematics education, mathematical giftedness and creativity, technology and digital media in mathematics education, narrative didactics, and history of mathematics.

Csaba Csíkos (1972) completed both his MSc in Mathematics and Geography and MEd in Educational Assessment in 1996 at the University of Szeged. He obtained PhD in Education in 2001 there as well. From 1999 until 2016 he worked in different academic positions at the Institution of Education in Szeged. From 2017 until 2021 he served as Vice-Dean at the Faculty of Primary and Pre-School Education at ELTE Eötvös Loránd University, and became full professor of Education in 2019. From 2021 he is head of the Department of Educational Evaluation and Planning at the University of Szeged. His major research interests are: strategic components of thinking; metacognitive aspects of mathematical thinking (with a focus on word problem solving). He has been member of European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI) and International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education (PME).

Irina Horga is a researcher at the National Center for Policy and Evaluation in Education - Education Research Unit (previously the Institute of Educational Sciences), since 1996. Her research areas include: evaluation of the educational policies, curriculum, education of disadvantaged groups (rural areas, Roma population, children with disabilities, students at risk of early school leaving), development of the national system of indicators in education.

Description automatically generated with medium confidenceMirela Vinerean is a Senior lecturer in Mathematics at Karlstad University, Sweden, since 2011 and merited university teacher since 2016. Her research interest is from the beginning in applied mathematics and in the last years in mathematics education with a focus on the use of digital technology for mathematics teaching.
